Thursday, 4th July 2013

CIRENCESTER UK - MITSUBISHI Motors in the UK has enjoyed a hugely successful first half of 2013, according to the latest statistics from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The company sold 41.84 per cent more passenger cars in the first half of this year than it did in the first six months of 2012 – making Mitsubishi the fastest-growing brand in the UK [1].

Mitsubishi’s two new arrivals this year – the all-new Outlander and the all-new Mirage, have aided the company’s sales progress so far in 2013.

The all-new Outlander is the latest incarnation of Mitsubishi Motors' highly regarded and versatile SUV; while Mirage is the compact and clever city car that's so efficient that it has zero road tax across the whole range. Nearly 1,000 new Outlanders have been sold since its launch, while Mirage sales already exceed 1,400.

Sales of the rugged and reliable L200 pick-up truck also continue to grow, and are 17.63 per cent up on last year.

Lance Bradley, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said:

“Now the sales figures are in for the first half of 2013, it’s clear to see we have made significant progress so far this year.

The two new additions to our range have certainly helped us – and there will be more exciting news on the way from Mitsubishi Motors in the UK as the year progresses.”
