The Desert Warrior was born out of a conversation between Mitsubishi Motors in the UK and Top Gear magazine. We were looking for a project to do together and a few months later Top Gear approached us with an idea of creating a pre-runner truck, similar in concept to those vehicles that are used to pre-run desert raids and distance rallies. In early 2017 we supplied the standard L200 Warrior to the build team, knowing it would never look quite the same again! Once completed with all the extreme parts you see today, the Desert Warrior was packed off with its crew from Top Gear and Mitsubishi Motors in the UK for an extreme adventure in Namibia. Equipped with an exo-cage, sports bucket seats, massive wheels, beefed up suspension and a winch the car was ready for whatever was thrown at it. If you are wondering what the wing is for than we can tell you that it is not for aerodynamic advantage! It is actually a drone hanger. Controllable from inside the cab, a drone can be released and track the car for filming, and then land back in when finished. The Motoped Scrambler/mountain bike in the back is there for when the terrain is inaccessible for the truck. Huge spare wheels on lowering racks, jerry cans and air compressors complete the load area.
