TWO NEW AREA MANAGERS JOIN MITSUBISHI MOTORS’ EXPANDING TEAM
Mar 15, 2016
Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has appointed two new Area Managers as the brand continues to grow.
Mark Miller is the new Area Manager for the east of England while Matthew Baxter will cover the Midlands and parts of Wales.
Mark’s last role was with RCI, the finance division of Renault and Nissan, and before that he spent five years with Volkswagen Financial Services.
The father-of-two, who has been in the industry for more than 20 years, said: ‘I’m really excited about being part of the next chapter of Mitsubishi’s growth in the UK. I’m looking forward to working closely with the dealers, the product and the customers. It’s very easy to get excited about the Mitsubishi product, both present and future.’
Mark, who has a pilot’s licence and has taken part in charity events giving disabled or disadvantaged children an opportunity to experience a flight in a light aircraft, added: ‘I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think it was a fantastic time to join the organisation. I’m absolutely passionate about the product and the future of Mitsubishi. So far I have been very impressed with the dealers in my network and their ambitions to grow with us. I’m looking forward to working with them.’
Father-of-two Matthew spent the past five years working with Nissan, initially as a Used Car Performance Manager, with the past two years in Electric Sales Development.
He started in the retail motoring industry in 1987 and has experience of small, independent dealers and large PLCs, including a spell with Formula One legend Damon Hill’s dealership in Warwickshire.
Having been heavily involved in retail, including owning his own dealership, he said: ‘What excites me about this new role is working with the dealers. I will be using my own experiences to help develop their businesses.’
A keen cyclist, he added: ‘The dealers I have met so far have given me a real confidence that we have got great foundations in our dealer network. I’m excited about the product – every time you see a charging point there’s an Outlander PHEV there now. The company has found its niche as a 4WD and hybrid technology manufacturer, which is exciting for the future.’
Statistics from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders show Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has been the fastest-growing mainstream car manufacturer for the past three years. The company saw sales growth in passenger cars of 44 per cent in 2015 compared with the previous year, against an overall market up by six per cent.
David Parry, General Manager of Sales Operations at Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: ‘We are delighted to see Mark and Matthew join the team at what is an exciting time for Mitsubishi. We have taken on a number of new dealers in the past year with more to come, so having Matthew and Mark on board will help us work with our expanding dealership network.’
