FREESTYLE WORLD BOARDING CHAMPION PERFORMS ‘HARDEST TRICK OF THE YEAR’ IN BRISTOL
Aug 28, 2015
BRISTOL – Next Saturday, 5th September sees the UK’s fastest-growing mainstream car brand, Mitsubishi Motors, put on a free-to-attend urban wakeboarding competition as part of its ASX Adventure Advanced campaign.
Urban wakeboarding is a street sport. It takes place on dry land, over jumps and around obstacles. Competitors pick up speed, towed on their boards by a Mitsubishi ASX vehicle. The Adventure Advanced LIVE competition hosts a selection of the world’s best mountain board athletes who will race against each other over a complex slalom course at Bristol Waterfront.
Not only will the competition be judged by Matt Brind, mountain boarding’s freestyle World Champion, he will also be putting on a spectacular and impressive display himself at 1pm on the day.
Matt Brind has been part of the UK competition and demo scene for years and is well known for some of the biggest and best tricks in the mountain board world, including switch sevens and the infamous double backflip.
Matt said: “I'm really excited to be supporting the Mitsubishi Motors Adventure Advanced LIVE competition at Waterfront Square in Bristol on 5th September – its set to be a great, free event with a bunch of top quality riders being towed by a Mitsubishi ASX!
"I'm also really looking forward to the display after the competition as it'll give me a chance to perform some of my hardest tricks that I haven't had a chance to try so far this year.”
This exclusive free for all-ages event will be held at a very prestigious venue that offers the perfect location, combining family entertainment with extreme sports. It’s set to be an action packed day which also includes other mountain board heroes like Ben and James Wanklyn and Andrew Brind who will also be showcasing their incredible skills.
Street artists will be creating a bespoke mural, whilst music will keep visitors bouncing with surround sound. A snowboard simulator, velcro wall and face painting will all be available to entertain the crowd. Mitsubishi Motors (UK) is also running a ‘Colour in a Car Freestyle’ competition. Not only a chance to showcase artistic talents but also to win a family weekend away in the UK. The competition will be judged by Matt Brind and Zoe Gillings-Brier on the day.
