STARS TURN OUT AT THE MITSUBISHI MOTORS BADMINTON HORSE TRIALS

May 11, 2015

Mitsubishi’s brand ambassadors turned out in force to represent the company at this year’s Badminton Horse Trials.

Celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager, Olympic equestrian Mary King and Gloucester Rugby players Ben Morgan, Greig Laidlaw, James Hook and Richard Hibbard were all on hand to mix with the public at the Mitsubishi stand.

Rosemary signed photographs and enjoyed a tour of the vast site on a buggy, Mary King signed copies of her book, My Way, for dozens of people who queued up in the rain, and the Gloucester Rugby players signed photographs and showed off the European Challenge Cup to a scrum of fans.

England international and Gloucester number eight Ben said: ‘I have never been to Badminton before so it was great to see what it’s all about. It’s such a big event and the fact it’s in our county means everyone here is supporting Gloucester, which is brilliant. It’s always nice to have the chance to talk to the fans.’

Sixteen-year-old Adam Cox, from Tetbury, queued to see the players and said: ‘I play for Dursley RFC which is the same club Ben Morgan used to play for so he is my favourite, but it was great to get the chance to speak to all four of them.’

Rosemary, who has starred in I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, said: ‘It was lovely to be back here. It is such a great place to come to. The weather wasn’t great though – I should’ve worn my I’m A Celebrity jungle hat to keep off the rain.’

Mary added: ‘Badminton to me is the cream of the cream as far as our sport goes. It’s my 30th year of riding here so it’s a very special event to me. Mitsubishi’s tremendous sponsorship of this, my favourite event, is great – I’m so proud to be a Brand Ambassador.’

Kelly Vaughan, 18, from Wales, queued up to speak to Mary and get her autograph.

She said: ‘She’s an inspiration to everyone. She’s a legend.’
